Today is Computer Security Day. We all rely on computers for much of our work and leisure activities. Make sure you are protecting yourselves and your children from identity theft, fake frauds, ransomware viruses and more that can make your online experiences challenging.

Below is a checklist you can follow to help secure your computer.
1. Windows Update is enabled.
2. Antivirus software is installed and running.
3. Windows Firewall is turned on.
4. The software on my computer is up to date.
5. Strong passwords are always used.
6. Passwords are not shared or written down.
7. A password is required to access my computer.
8. Unused programs are removed.
9. My home wireless network is secured.
10. My important data is regularly backed up.
11. I use caution when I browse the Internet.
12. I log off the computer when I’m not using it.
13. My web browser does not store or remember my passwords.

Do you know what it feels like to have a whole day named after you? As of today, Prairie View High School Principal Jaime White can tell you.

The City Government of Commerce City Council proclaimed today, December 14, 2018, as Jaime White Day.

Principal White was surprised with the proclamation during an assembly which became a moving display of appreciation by Prairie View High staff and students as well as surprise guests from White’s family and 27J.

The proclamation was made in recognition of White’s unwavering leadership and tireless efforts on behalf of the students and staff at Prairie View High. She embraces a culture of high expectations and a goal of and evidence and experiential-based learning environment. Under her leadership, PVHS has seen a 76% year-over-year reduction in tardy attendance and has seen a 298% year-over-year increase of students taking advantage of concurrent enrollment certificate programs.

Congratulations, Principal Jaime White from all of 27J! And Happy Jaime White Day everyone!
