Adams County hosted a symposium with regional leaders to address the issue of poverty in the area. John G. Miller, author of QBQ! The Question Behind the Question and Flipping the Switch, was the keynote speaker. The event also featured County Commissioners Mary Hodge and Eva J. Henry along with Paolo Diaz, the county’s Poverty Reduction Manager.

Don’t think there’s a use for your Christmas tree after the holidays? Think again! The Parks & Open Space Department is offering free recycling for live Christmas trees starting Wednesday, Dec. 26, and running through Sunday, Jan. 13, at Riverdale Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., from sunrise to sunset. Signs will direct residents to the self drop-off site. Ornaments, tinsel, garlands, flock, nails, and stands must be removed before trees are dropped off. There is a limit of two trees per family. Please note: tree limbs, yard waste, or trees from commercial operations will not be accepted.
