Congratulations to Captain Beavers on his retirement! Eddie was a perfect fit for Brighton’s emergency response community. He always showed a strong sense of compassion and empathy for his patients and colleagues. We will miss you Eddie!

This morning saw the end of an era…After 28 years of service Paramedic Captain, Ed Bevers retired from duty. Captain Bevers joined our team in September of 1990 after moving to Colorado from Oklahoma – where he served as a police officer/paramedic for several years prior.

After his first year with PVAS, Ed was given supervisory responsibilities and has served in this crucial capacity ever since! Ed has spent most of his career serving and leading on B-shift. His people will tell you that Captain Bevers ran tight ship by insisting on only several simple rules. 1. Wear your uniform correctly 2. Run your calls correctly 3. Complete your paperwork correctly. Ed was the father figure on his shift and steadfastly advocated for and protected his crew – while they worked hard to advocate for their patients.

During his tenure, Captain Bevers has been a part of many changes – moving from a combination to an all career organization, becoming a department of the hospital, changes in equipment, vehicles, protocols, guidelines and chain of command (to list a few). He has run many calls, mentored many people and made many challenging and difficult decisions. Ed worked on the front lines and behind the scenes to continuously improve our service delivery.

It will certainly be an odd adjustment having to move forward without the benefit of his leadership and guidance. Captain Bevers will always be a part of our team and we sincerely hope that he will stop by every now and then to check up on us!

Here’s to Paramedic Captain, S. Edgar Bevers, III – (RETIRED)!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Officer Natalie Corona and City of Davis Police Department CA as they mourn her tragic death.

#EOW Tragically, we are sharing the murder of City of Davis Police Department CA Officer Natalie Corona who was just 22 years old and survived by her parents. Her father is a retired brother in blue.

The murderer was found dead after committing suicide.

Natalie has worked for Davis PD since 2016 in other capacities. She was promoted to police officer late last year and just a few weeks ago she completed FTO.

Please keep her family, both blood and blue, in your thoughts and prayers.
